Stephen Harper, as we all did, inherited a system that had some controls (there were many more in the past) on our banking, housing mortgage and insurance industries. Due to the fact that previous left and right leaning govs did not believe in an all-out free enterprise economic system without laws/controls, we did not end up with a system filled with uncontrolled greed and fraud at the highest levels of commerce in which later on, the gov had to come in and rescue some of the world’s largest companies.
Secondly, we are a resource rich country with those resources in demand around the world and, in general, prices/demand remained fairly strong throughout the downturn . Commodity prices are rising even higher… even better for the future.
Harper was lucky he had the Liberals and Paul Martin before him. As Finance Minister, Martin left with surpluses in place which allowed Little Stevie the room to spend us into a $55 billion deficit last year to make himself look economically good before he got the election he wanted but blames on the Liberals.
He is a dictator (very good folks have left his caucus because of this), is secretive and underhanded, sleazy (don’t let anyone with different views into our rallies…what country do we live in??), more than opportunistic (does a song with the very young lady that Lady Gaga
recognized…did she have a clue what was going on?..being used by the PM for his personal political purposes!!). he can’t fade into the political background fast enough for myself.

Come on! How can you say these guys are managing the economy. They cut taxes and increased spending with the result we have the highest deficit this country has even had. Look at the facts and ignore the propaganda.
It was the surplus and bank regulations that Harper inherited that has made our banks the best in the world.

I did not save a penny In fact my taxes increased from 2008 to 2009 and stayed the same from 2009 to 2010 calculated on the same income.
Bottom line I make my decisions on what they did not on their BS promises because they usually do not follow through with.

Tell me how you would deal with someone illegally foaming electrical boxes. Do suppose simply talking to them will get them to use electricians to correct the problems in thousands of boxes already done???
So reporting someone creating fire hazards in electrical boxes in houses is bullying…definitely can’t figure out your train of thought…or the lack of it is a better phrase…all this from an electrician!!!

To look at issues that the present governing power has accomplished.
You look at past achievements. You measure for truth and values.
So with petty name calling you demote your views and through lies and propaganda that you promote you show the contempt you have for the public that placed you in power and the laws that dictate how parliament shall run.
Anyone can go back far enough to find fault with a governing power .
You are to look at the past term for the proof you need to make selection.
