Never heard the term “paired home.” so I googled it and this is what AI had to say:

A paired home is two homes that share a wall, while a duplex is a single building with two separate living spaces. Paired homes are designed to look like a single larger home, and they offer more privacy than a front-to-front duplex.

They have all kind iof crazy arrangements now where they try to cram more people into smaller spaces. The two that come to mind are the front and back townhomes and the under and over flats and then there is the old side by side duplex like my great grandfather built.

It’s similar to using the term park home instead of mobile home. They are both a house on a hitch, regardless of what you want to call them.
