Wondering if there are any ISN guru’s out there who know how to customize ISN. I have been doing some “specialized” inspections that require me to write up a one-off agreement only relevant to that particular inspection. I am wondering what is the best way to process these types of orders through ISN so that the agreement can be sent and processed through the ISN system as well as the payments and everything else that is nicely tracked through ISN.
NXT Inspekt is much easier to use then isn. And cheaper too. Check it out. Mention me and we both get a free month of service. I add custom services and agreements all the time. Just did a window inspection on Friday that I added to the system in only a few minutes.
Hey Adam, you can put together as many agreements as you want. go to ISN, then click on “settings” then “office settings” then “agreements”.
There you can create or modify your inspection agreements.
As far as payment, I can’t help you there because I personally collect all my payments myself either at the inspection, with PayPal, or the rare occasion of check by mail.
They do have a very responsive chat system but is only available during working hours Pacific time zone.
So, I use ISN for Home inspections and have made additional agreements for EIFS, Stucco, AMSV inspections. Also have a commercial agreement and since I do a fair amount of expert witness work, I have an Expert Witness agreement as well.
I have just made individual inspection types that trigger the particular agreement to be sent and any other forms, etc., including online payments. You set up the specialized inspection or service just like you did for a home inspection. It is not difficult to build this out on ISN.
Thanks everyone for responding. I am familiar with what you guys suggested.
I guess to make my question more specific, I am trying to figure out how to use ISN for multiple inspections with one client (IE phase inspections). Ideally, I would put in the clients and property information, select phase inspection and the first initial email will be the usual welcome email with a link for agreement and then a link for payment for round 1. Then somehow, probably manually or after I post the first report, a second email for Phase 2 will be delivered- a link for payment and verification of time, etc. Do you guys, or anyone else, have experience with the client relations side of phase inspections?
I have learned to appreciate ISN for the back office management, but I am trying to push it to beyond a basic home inspection side now.
Sending an email at a later date is not an issue, we have ours set to send a reminder email on new construction home for a one year warranty inspection. That email is sent ten months after we have done the original inspection. I do not know of any way to have it send an invoice, payment information, etc., on an inspection that would have been finalized. You would need to reorder the inspection which is just a click and then you could edit the file for the proper date, etc., we do that often for our one year warranty inspections. It just creates a second file/order but ISN does flag the original job for you so all of the information from the first one is the right in front of you.
Ok, yeah I was thinking of something like that. I just got off the phone with ISN and they suggested the same thing. I was hoping that I was not the only one trying use ISN for this purpose.
Curious about your one year warranty inspections. Are they for new construction, or is this a warranty for your past inspections?
Thanks
One year warranty inspections are for newly built homes before they reach their one year anniversary and the end of the builders 1 Year Warranty. Many of the ones we do are for past clients where we did the inspection on their new construction home.
This is on our website, it describes the One Year Warranty Inspection.
