Water under the front porch

Today’s inspection on a 1986, 4/3, 2,322 sq ft, unfinished basement home revealed water was present under the front porch. There was a crawlspace entry hole to the area beneath the frontn porch and when looking inside I saw water standing at the bottom. Now, that being said, the floor of the area under the front porch is below the level of the basement slab. Is this something to be concerned about? The house sits up on a hill with some higher ground behind it. There were no indications of moisture issues in the basement other than some drylock on the rear wall. The areas tested dry. However, how should I explain the moisture? Is it possible the floor under the porch, which is about 10-12 inches below the slab, is below the french drains?

Standing water is never good. For both safety & the damage it can cause. Recommend correction.

I’m with Jeff, Anthony. We don’t have to explain the moisture just report that it’s there with correction as needed.
