n95 masks fitted and worn correctly offer some protection for the wearer only.
When you breath out the seal is broken period and anyone near by can breath in what you exhaled.
But if face diapers are your thing go for it.
All other masks are useless at preventing spread.

Only someone who is clueless about science and the scientific method would make such a ill-informed statement. Science (unlike religion, politics and bias) changes when new knowledge is detected. Knowledge unlike dogma is a process with a flow whose resolution is unknown until sometime after the fact. Testing and doubt the bedrock of science is abhorred and forbidden by religion, politics and personal bias.

Post your facts that cloth masks with a filter and proper social distancing doesn’t work.
He won’t because that is the exact protocol.
If you can’t socially distance, than an n-95 should be worn. Preferably, everyone in an enclosed space should be wearing a mask.
