Besides the armies of Gog and Magog marching on towards Jerusalem…
Careful with dissenting views!
This one even has me stumped?

Never mind paragraph 3 it’s all Biden’s fault, again.

Trump told supporters in Palm Beach that he would “never forget that Bibi Netanyahu let us down” when the Israeli prime minister, in Trump’s telling, provided intelligence to help with the killing of Iranian covert operations chief Qassem Soleimani in 2020, before backing out of participation in the operation at the last minute. Trump also criticized Israeli intelligence for failing to anticipate the Hamas assault, saying “they’ve got to straighten it out.”
Many Israelis appear to blame the Netanyahu government for the surprise attack. In a recent poll by Israel’s Dialog Center, 86 percent of Israelis surveyed characterized the assault as a failure of leadership by the Netanyahu government.
But in his own private ranting against Netanyahu, Trump has made it abundantly clear that his fury at Netanyahu is driven more by preexisting personal animus than by the Israeli leader’s performance in office during the Gaza offensive. The former president has derisively compared the “very weak” Netanyahu to the majority of American Jewish voters who support Democratic President Joe Biden, and has assailed Netanyahu’s intelligence and alleged corruption.
This guy is growing on me. Apolitical military analysis. I learned what a roof knock is and that it is no longer used this time around.
Rolling Stones is trash. All of that is possible, but no sources are ever cited or confirmed. The article eventually just turns into an anti Trump rant with the same old broken narrative.
Not everyone should have a firearm. There are many mentally disturbed people that should never have a gun as well as criminals, gang members and so on. People that shouldn’t have a firearm should not be able to get one. Have you noticed that the states with the most laxed gun control have the most murders by guns that they purchased legally in that state?
I did not say they should. But I appreciate your statement.
Nope, I have not noticed that. I am happy to take a look at it if you provide the information.
Don’t forget to watch for the statistical pitfall that politicians want you to follow:
“If this, then it must be that”
I use teen driving as an example of policies that may help save lives.
For example; raising the drinking age. Zero tolerance laws for underage drinkers. Increased penalties for contributing to a minor. My state has laws that require an adult to be in the car and curfews. And finally, intense education programs across the country.
Correlations?
Increase the age for legal fire arm purchases.
Adult supervision of underaged firearm use (such as hunting)
Safe storage laws and gun owner liability if gross negligence is proven.
Nationwide firearm safety education in our schools

Hi Brian, I’ve been following this for years. I’ve lived in NY, moved to NC for over 12 years, and moved back to NY. I also legally own firearms that I love taking to the range.
This is just one of the many articles out there. Studies also show that many of the illegal guns used in NY were actually purchased down south legally, and transported and sold in NY.
- A Georgia man and eight others have been indicted in New York for allegedly running an illegal firearms-buying ring.
- NC man gets 71/2 years for trafficking guns
- Four Gun Traffickers Charged with Selling Over 50 Firearms in Brooklyn purchased in Virginia

More junk data from the CDC! If you look at the bottom of the page you linked to the citation (source of the data) is CDC themselves. Nowhere on that dataset do they indicate that they have accounted for/removed from the stats:
- Deaths by suicide.
- Accidental deaths.
- Deaths occurring when a person was exercising their right to self defense.
- Deaths occurring at the hands of Law Enforcement protecting others.
Another issue with these stats by themselves are they do not attempt to provide any information regarding crime rates which can correlate to deaths by persons protecting themselves. What you are seeing in “Red” above are States who generally don’t FA if you attempt to mess with them. Typically what you see in “Blue” above are the pacifist locations where the people would gladly offer up their first born rather than defend themselves!
Also at the bottom of that page is this very important disclaimer.
States are categorized from highest rate to lowest rate. Although adjusted for differences in age-distribution and population size, rankings by state do not take into account other state specific population characteristics that may affect the level of mortality. When the number of deaths is small, rankings by state may be unreliable due to instability in death rates.
As I said more junk data without context courtesy of the CDC.
What laws do you think NY has that protects its citizens from gun violence? Do you think this is a balanced approach to self defense?
What they do not tell you is this:
The CDC’s data includes homicides, accidental killings and suicides committed by guns. According to the CDC, over 45,000 people in the United States were killed with a firearm in 2020 – more than half died by suicide.
There are some more statistics that would be just too controversial to display here. And the fact we cannot have that conversation blurs the facts we need to make decisions. To include “what is the definition of gun violence?”
So in the end, the “if this, then that” argument needs more honest scrutiny and debate.
There is an organization which is listed in this article that is making this correlation between state laws and gun violence. They are listed here in this article. However, it does not appear anyone is fact checking their website. I have found several errors on my state alone.
A couple of things… It’s crass to try to score cheap political points off thousands of dead people overseas, even if you don’t particularly care about any of the demographics involved.
The second thing is that I don’t know you from Adam, apart from regularly rolling my eyes at things unrelated to home inspections, but it’s a pretty safe bet that, between the two of us, I’m the only one that was trained and then authorized, by the very US government that you occasionally suggest you support, to use guns to kill people. So, think it possible that others may have insight that you lack, particularly about gun safety.
I guess my last point would be that it seems like it would be perfectly ok to use these forums just for industry information and helping others in the home inspection community. It’s okay to only share such opinions, and that’s all they are, at the local Gathering or Rotarian meeting, where you are comfortable that they are exclusively like-minded. (Although, if you are preaching to the choir, it may be a waste of your breath, as they are going to sing either way.) However, it seems poor business practice to broadcast one’s political or religious preferences or prejudices, as it is not germane to our trade and will alienate far more people than it will attract. Let the ad hominem attacks begin!
Help was not coming-(anytime soon) And heroes do exist.
A retired major general with the Israel Defence Forces and his wife grabbed a pistol, jumped into their jeep and headed south to rescue their son’s family during Hamas’ deadly incursion.
