Wire question in new build

Q: do you guys note in your report when wires are installed like this? There is a significant amount of tension on this wire with no slack at all. It is also rubbing up against the AFCI breaker above it. Thanks

Total judgement call and probably half would and half wouldn’t note it. For me, just going off the picture, it looks fine. I have a similar one in my own panel, lol.

I wouldn’t write that up.

If the connection is tight then there is nothing to report. They could have moved the CB to a slot at the top and eliminated the short conductor issue.

It does not look very taught to me. The wire actually swoops down before going up.

I wouldn’t write it up. The panel doesn’t move so there will be no insulation chaffing. The wire should have been longer during the rough in or maybe it was cut too short afterwards. Doesn’t matter, it’s not going anywhere.

I agree with others that it’s not an issue the way it’s installed and I wouldn’t write it up.

Is that the one you were messing with last week? Hehe :smirk:

Well, not directly, but the GFCI breakers I installed contributed to the issue. In a very similar way as the OPs’ pic.

Looks fine.

And it’s a circuit that I added… :confounded:
