That is fair. I was unaware that this was open.
Not here I can’t
We knew it was unintentional. No biggie.
Chuck is still complaining about what I tried to do to get FLIR, FLUKE and ASHI to chip in on the HomeSafe battle, including a threat that if InterNACHI got the patents in a settlement that I’d use them to make non-members stop using their IR cameras. It worked to a degree. ASHI didn’t chip in any money but they immediately agreed to consider “forming a task force” to look into the issue. LOL. I couldn’t make this stuff up about ASHI if I tried. They are such a joke of an organization.
Anyway, once again InterNACHI had to go it alone and fight for the entire industry without any help, and as you can see by our lawsuit, our position is that NO inspector is infringing on their patents and also that the patent awards should be reversed. If we win in court or at the USPTO (we only need to win one of them)… InterNACHI’s win is a win for ALL inspectors.
NAHI lawsuit update:
We appear to have just won round one. About an hour ago, NAHI removed the statement (“All current NAHI members have become ASHI members”) from their home page which, if true, was a crime. It is illegal to sign people up for a fee or due-paid service or membership without their prior consent, even if you give them an option to call in and say “no thanks.”
And it looks like they took down their Find an Inspector search tool. That’s good for InterNACHI members.
Wow, this is awesome, I haven’t even got service on them yet. My process server has them scheduled for tomorrow.
Which begs the question: Why is InterNACHI playing the game “member” / “applicant” name with Chuck? It isn’t an “Applicant-ONLY forum”. It is “Member-ONLY forum”. Either he is a member or he is not a member. If he doesn’t want the title of “Member”, then he doesn’t deserve the access that ONLY Members are entitled to. No offense to Chuck as he supplies lots of great information and opinions, but enough of the name games. Either put up or shut up.
We have no control over Chuck’s InterNACHI membership.
If he isn’t a member, how does he have access to Member’s Only sections of the board? What is an “applicant”?
An applicant is a type of membership very similar to a student membership in that neither have fulfilled all the requirements to be a full member. They aren’t quite exactly the same though. An applicant is a member who is an inspector and a student is a member who isn’t an inspector, but neither are full InterNACHI members.
All members can enter the members-only sections. Student members, applicants, CPIs, vendors, ancillary inspectors, etc. If you join, you are a member regardless of your status and thus you can enter the members-only sections.
But again, we have no control over Chuck’s membership or his membership status. None.
And thus should not be granted access to the MEMBER’S ONLY areas of the message board.
No, anyone who joins InterNACHI is a member and can enter the members-only sections. Students who have joined can enter. Vendors who have joined can enter. Invisible members can enter. Retired members can enter. We don’t have a FULL-member section that requires certain coursework and FULL membership to access. I don’t see the point in having a dedicated section that requires technical coursework to enter.
Inspectors can still be sued, for a time, even after they close shop. This applies to many businesses.
NAHI can still be sued for damages or crimes. InterNACHI’s team of lawyers are world class.
Don’t forget about the “month-to-month” Members. You know, those (like) some vendors that pay $50 for a month to gain access to all of our information to SPAM us with, or, certain nefarious beings that want access to our Members Only archived posts so others don’t have to worry about being expelled for breaking the rules! $50 is chump change to these scumbags and don’t think twice about paying it to get what they want.
I thought the members only section was for members only. Makes me no longer want to post. I’m out.
Members-only section is for members only.
If you haven’t joined InterNACHI, you can’t get in.
NAHI update:
We failed to serve them today. The sheriff said their offices are empty. He said that the Salon next door said they were there one day and gone the next. They snuck out in the middle of the night. I always said they were a Fly-by-Night operation. It appears I was right.
That’s what I told you would happen. Let your mouthpiece beer guide
None of my InterNACHI/NAHI dual members got a refund from NAHI for the dues they pre-paid yet.
