Is it OK for the gas pipe to come up and over so close the water spigot? Other than being annoying?
Thanks for the help!

Others may chime in, but I don’t see a problem except for any restrictions regarding access.
Gas meter clearance distance to water spigot should be 2 feet in any direction.
Good reference @jfudge , but is that meter specific or the plumbing. The meter itself is not shown for clearance as depicted. Does the meter plus plumbing fall within the same?
The meter in the OP’s pic looks to be under 2 feet from the spigot.
Could be. I don’t see many (if any) mounted meters in my area. And if that is the meter, then it does appear that it is within 2 ’ as Jr stated. A better system pic would always be more helpful.
No gas meters here in PEI!
Pic in my edited post above as well.
Yours is much better!!
It’s from that Inspectapedia link. Haven’t found much more about the gas meter to water spigot clearance.
I breezed thru the link, did they reference a source?
Not that I noticed. I tried doing a further Google search, but didn’t seem to find much on it.
Any idea why this would be a standard when we bond CSST to the water piping?
I’m still not sure why being near a water spigot would be much of a problem. Would it even be a safety hazard? Maybe someone who inspects gas meters regulary will chime in.
The gas meter would come in handy to roll the hose up on.
Haha, I can see that happening.
Me too. Didn’t find anything. I wonder if that is a Canadian rule.
Maybe @mwilles would know… Where is the resident plumber???
It can be found in a lot of online documents, even in the US, etc…Just not a clear explanation why.
