This means nothing, absolutely nothing. Ethics no longer mean anything within this organization. All for a nothing. Every “discount” available to NACHI members is the same as calling the vendor directly or through HIP, or through ASHI or through any other group. Nothing but smokescreen.
Don’t get confused. It’s not the ban that keeps them out of members-only… it’s that they haven’t rejoined as members. All non-members can’t post in the members-only sections of the message board, whether they’ve been banned or not.
You are confusing the decision and the recommendation. The decision stands to this day.
The recommendation stands too but wasn’t implemented for a dozen reasons, one of which it is technically impossible. Another is that it would deprive members of a precious membership benefit. Another is that it is, as Michael demonstrated, meaningless, and so I traded something meaningless for something meaningful for members. Another is… I can go on and on.
B U L L S H I T !!! Then who the hell did because the person still shows as a member and still has message board access.
You can spin all you want Nick. You and only you kept this person as an active member will full access. Or are you saying that Chris decided?
NACHI members get nothing that they can’t get elsewhere from this vendor. Other organizations, software vendors, etc.
What NACHI members do get is an organization without an enforceable Code of Ethics. What NACHI members will get is the cold shoulder from Realtors and Consumers that find out the organization they belong to does not enforce the Code of Ethics.
Mike what’s the difference between members and non members areas? Any way you look at it a vendor can advertise and raise hell all day in the non members area. There is no difference in my opinion because we “all” can see the non members area.
Big difference. A vendor will not act like a jerk or worse in a public area of the message board that can be searched / crawled by the search engines. Why do you think all this happened in the first place. It was hidden behind “closed doors”.
So why pay attention to him? We have the choice to repond or not or to use the vendors services or not. I could care less what anyone does in the members area that’s what we pay our money for so we can speak our minds and get help without the public passing judgement.
What is the difference between a vender and a member then? Why don’t we open up the Not for everyone section to the public. Watch how fast posts get deleted then.
Stephen eloquently explains why it is in his fellow members’ best interests to allow vendors to post in the members-only sections of the message board:
Thank you Stephen. I was having trouble explaining how being able to engage a vendor and discover the real truth about the product or service is a benefit that our members shouldn’t be denied.
