No Michael, I’m being very clear. My argument is with everyone who takes the Bible as truth, lives their lives based on it and wants to convert as many people as possible to pay for and pave the way to grow this big business masking itself as religion.
So is your beef just with Christians or with anyone professing belief in a God?
I greatly respect the belief in God. I have no idea whether God exists or not, and probably never will. As I stated previously, my argument is with people who use a hate filled storybook as a means to base their morals.
It seems to me that western society has derived it’s morals from the bible.
But perhaps I am mistaken.:roll:
…and then push these morals on the rest of the world as if it is the truth and you can have it no other way or you burn in hell.
Basing morals on the good, respectful parts of the Bible is fantastic and I commend everyone who does. Using the entire Bible, literally, as the end all truth is ridiculous.
Whether you personally “burn in hell” isn’t up to me thankfully.

Many of my morals correlate with those of the Bible.
It’s a package deal and the parts you are having a problem with haven’t been in use for a very long time and for good and biblical reasons.

Yes, Michael my anger has driven me to very logically and skillfully tear apart the Bible. Maybe if the world would practice their faith within their own home and not try to be so profitable, you wouldn’t have angry people like me.
Kevin I see no anger in your threads and appear to be an open minded guy. I agree with some of your posts. I went to Catholic school for 13 years and all I got out of it was FEAR of God…hence I just do my own thing now…Kinda Buddah, Christian, Muslim, Jewish thing…do you realize how many Holidays I get with this train of thought!

Kevin, many have been angered by the religion they have been exposed to.
Religion is really only mans attempt to reconcile with God and is is totally insufficient.
A relationship with Jesus is and that is what the entire bible is about from cover to cover.
It’s an internally consistent story contained in a collection of books that reveals God’s plan for His creation from the beginning and into the future.
That doesn’t mean it’s an easy book as it was written across many centuries an in varying cultures and languages. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be understood either.
It’s not a book of religion but as I said a book of relationship with the creator of all.
No I wouldn’t. You shouldn’t focus on those parts first.
There is so much that is much easier to understand.
