Perfect. Thanks for the answers.
I use an IPad for report writing on site and add some pictures in the office at end of the day. So this would still be useful.
I think i know the answer to this but…Can you see (on your phone) what the camera is taking a picture of? or are you shooting blind.
again i think i know the answer just wanted to be sure. (I am assuming no you can’t, as the phone is only a “remote control”.)

The screen on the phone shows what the camera is seeing and you can even zoom in and out right from the phone or iPad.

Same with my set up…I can see what the camera sees, change from wide angle to normal, and start or stop video and interval stills.
I also use the camera on a 4x4 rockcrawling RC vehicle for help getting into really tight crawlspaces (smaller than I can crawl). Pretty handy.

Awesome. Thanks guys. Answered some of my questions.
Coming into winter I am putting more consideration into the purchase of a pole camera.
Thanks again.

Has anyone used this product and what are your personal thoughts? I could see using this a lot as my area has a number of challenges when accessing roofs by ladder.
Before I drop $750 on a tool, I would like some real-world feedback on it.
Thanks!
I made my own for $350 including WiFi camera, and have never regretted it.

My phone and camera both have the photos and zoom and anti shake.
You will need several parts from ram mounts but all total you will pay about $180 for everything but it will be 24’ not the length of the spectroscope. There are poles out there that are fiberglass and also there are also carbon-fiber poles just do some research online. Trust me you will want the ram mounts.

Well, somebody needs to purchase all the components and assemble it. You didn’t think they just had these sitting around did you?

I have found my 24ft pole to be ample (I can easily get up to 32 feet with it by holding it up) but if I ever needed more this 40ft monster looks like the way to go:http://www.cwcsupplyusa.com/sorbomonsterpole.aspx

Thanks for all of the input! I did a bit of research and have found a number of solutions from 21-40+ feet at prices much less than the spectoscope. I am concerned that less than 30’ may be too short. I’ll build one to see how it works out, because ~$100 for a camera pole isn’t so bad.

This thread got me thinking, and the Spectroscope is nice but way too pricey. I ordered a 30’ 5-section pole from ABC for $100. I already have most of the Ram mounts I need for monitoring. Just need to research a good WiFi camera. Does the GoPro camera work good for stills, or is it just for video and then capturing stills later?

I have a wifi camera and was looking at camera poles, the Wonderpole looks pretty good.
No way I would pay the Internachi price for a pole. I have no problem with the Inachi store but their prices are higher than I would expect.
Thanks for posting those links.

I agree Paul the Nachi price is steep, and I have said so to Nick.
Given that, I am still happy I made the purchase and have used it many, many times instead of climbing a ladder.
Hopefully they’ll work out a more competitive price point.

Has anyone ever used a shorter version for those hard to reach attic corners?
I was thinking maybe with a bike mount for a flashlight, I could see better in those low roofs peaks or even cathedral ceilings.

Here’s the connection for poles that I was looking for the other day. You can get up to 50 feet if you like. http://www.mgs4u.com/fiberglass-push-up-mast.htm
A 32 footer is $120
