Nikon Coolpix S6500 it takes good photos even when not so steady and a good zoom.
I purchased one a few months ago and have been very happy with it. Easy set up and use. I really like the idea of staying off the roof and going home to my family at the end of the day.
I do find my wifi signal (between the phone and camera) gets cut off before the full 38’ extension.
I break it out at the start of each inspection of a 2-3 story home. Take a a few pictures (wide and close-up) of the roof covering, gutters, attachments, stacks, chimney tops, upper level windows, etc. Then I go about my normal roof/exterior inspection with binoculars from the ground. I review the photos on my laptop onsite or back at my desk.
I state how I got the photos in the limitation section of the report.
I had the opportunity the other day to help out another inspector that couldn’t access a flat roof. Took the photos and downloaded them to his laptop and off I went.
Added bonus: The screw cap pvc carrying case the Spectoscope came in mounts nicely to my roof rack and keeps it from getting banged up in my truck. I thought that was a nice feature I didn’t have to put together.
