I need a stand alone thermal imaging template has anyone got one??
I could use one as well. Following.
you would thing Spectora or Internachi would have posted one. I am getting more people that just want me to come look around toilets, fireplace, or other leaks they have but cant find. and it real confuses people when you send a home inspection agreement and try and add exclusion to that agreement. I have a thermal agreement just no template.
The TI REPORTER to me is high at 49.00 a month paid yearly.
What are your certifications in TI James for adding a template in a report?
All the internachi offers why
@dandersen may be best to help you with this. It’s a fine line on certifications and reporting on it.
Do you use Thermal Imaging (Infrared Scan) and was curious as to why you wanted to know my certification?? I merely ask if anyone had a stand alone thermal imaging template that they would share.
Sorry James, didn’t mean to ruffle your feathers, but I think there is a fine line in some of the interNACHI certifications as opposed to what could or should be used and included in your report. Just because you’re certified through interNACHI, doesn’t mean your are qualified to give a full TI evaluation of a property. Just stating this for your own protection before you get into something that may come back and bite you.
Hope for your success if it works out.
I do use them for my own information. I don’t use or mention them in my reports.
So internachi certification is no good….ok thanks commenting on a internachi Forum. I appreciate your concern for my lack of training and or the ability to use a thermal camera to further validate what I visually find and confirmed by the means of a moisture meter.
I have take all the required classes required, ASHI along with the NATIONAL EXAM and many of the internachi CE classes that You be worthless, but my state excepts internachi classes/training. I carry more than required liability Insurance and with E&O insurance. I see your from a state that doesn’t even require the NHIE.
Have a great afternoon
Dial back the crazy for a moment, Thomas only asked a simple question.
If you’re this touchy on a forum when asked about your qualifications, what do you do when a client asks the same question before hiring you?
Jeez Jim! Get a grip. Trying to help you a little and not putting you down. But go ahead win the award…
this subject should have even been got into, I have never questioned anyone certification or there ability to do there job. I think he was down grading internachi certification, and it still has nothing to do with the question I ask I am not mad at all. if you dont have a template or will to share one why would you comment?
Thomas,
I’m not mad at all I try to be as certified as I can be, being a retire Chief of Police of 25 yrs you had to be on top on your game, and i understand the liability issue.
I concur. He would be putting himself, and his company, in legal jeopardy, Big Time. The InterNACHI certification which I have as well is geared to help your basic understanding of thermography. Next step is to get a Level or application course. As well, for infrared temples, your IR camera must meet basic criteria.
Happy he passed the Infrared Certified Course. Great work. Now it’s time for more education and see how it can be used in your business.
James, thank you for your service and very well appreciated on my end.
I think the disconnect is what you want to add to your, report, based on TI and the liability in and risk that is associated with it. By no means do I discredit any certification from interNACHI, but I do, and will question the intent and purposes they are used for. Just because you have a certification from this association, does not mean your you are totally qualified in that field.
We try to look out for fellow inspectors that may be seeking avenues that they need one or more steps to protect themselves. I just felt that you may needed that.
Apologies if I offended you!
He wasnt downgrading it, he was being very honest about it. The thermal class is merely a 101, an intro to thermal. There is much more to learn, which is why there are three different levels of thermal certification, and it can be very pricey to obtain.
I have also been “certified” on the intro class, but I would like to take the next step and get level 1 certified. It is an awesome complimentary tool that I use with a home inspection, but I would be nervous to offer it as a stand alone inspection.
So do you feel a liabilty using the Thermal camera in your home inspection business??
