The secret weapon has been released into the wild

I have had multiple agents use it as an attachment with the CAR forms. They reported no issues.

Thanks! Good to hear the feedback, of which any good/bad?

Positive, but not many responses. The newest version notifies you when a repair list has been generated.

I read a post above saying nothing new. The feature is the first in the industry and has never before been created. It is very new and we have a patent pending on the process. It has taken a year to develop and agents that have commented love it. If you can save agents time and they are all about time and reduce liability (no retyping) would be a marketing sensation.

here is the concept:
Agents often dread getting the inspection and working on the repair addendum. HomeGauge’s new “Create Request List” feature is now going to make this process easy for the agent and home buyer! Some agents still fax requests, or type requests, include the full report or only pages of the report (scanned into a dull image). There are many methods and no standard. HomeGauge gives the inspection company the ability for their agents and buyers to use their report to create a Repair Request Addendum or a Project list easily and automatically in a standard method to finish negotiations, or if there are no negotiations (As is) then the buyer can create a project list to work from should they buy the home. The buyer and agent can even go over this list together while on the phone. This created repair list will also help with liability of agent miscommunication with their customer or the seller. Such as when they arrive at the home after the closing and discover that some of the items they thought the seller was to include or repair was not included after all. Many times in the negotiation process (post inspection) the buyer and seller put things “on the table” and take them off the table. Miscommunication can cause the deal to fall in jeopardy near the closing, or afterwards it can start a lawsuit.
It is very easy to use and actually engaging to the customer and agent with a sense of progress and accomplishment as they create their list from the inspection report. This will save time, remove egos (agent to agent), create a standardization and we time stamp what request were made and by whom. This eliminates liability for the agent and customer and seller by establishing a ID and history of the creation of the document. Agents are loving it and we have made several changes to the wording etc. and process. Currently we have a patent pending on the process and your agents can use it free if they use you for their inspections!

That looks like it will be a handy feature for agents. It would be nice to be able to generate a reinspection report template off of it too.

Russell,
Is there a Home gauge video demonstrating what the secret weapon is that we can send to our preferred agents. I would hate to use Franks video.

+1

Franks’s video is pretty good!! but you are correct a video should be in place to post/share email with a sample report to explain to buyer’s & agents how to use.

I was just messin’ with Frank.

You have my permission to download and edit to suit your needs. I understand your not wanting my branding.

Russell, please don’t waste your time and money on a patent for this. Software processes are extremely hard to patent because one slight variation that a competitor builds will sidestep your patent making it invalid when challenged. This is major deal in the technology community because patents kill innovation. Look up Software Patents for more information.

Also, we have had the ability to allow agents to mark comments from the home inspection report electronically for about a year now. They mark comments for review/repair and generate their own report. That is not a new idea. It’s available in our Inspectacular app on the App Store. See www.inspectacularapp.com. We have no patent on this. May the best developer build the best agent tool…

I am planning to make one for all to use very soon. I plan to use a voice over pro…Probably wont be as good as Franks…but stay tuned!

ah…a forward looking thinker! Yes but down the road a bit. Once we have acceptance we have several ideas.

Nice idea!

You guys also have my permission to download and edit the video. There are apps that will let you download YouTube video as an MP4. You can then edit it in Movie Maker. You can remove my branding at the beginning and end, and just use the video. You can add your own title and redo the voiceover too. I recorded my voiceover with my phone, and then added it to the video. I watched the video while recording so that it would all sync up. Poor man’s sound studio.

…to add, Inspectacular already does re-inspections as well. That’s definitely not a new concept.

I thought this was a HomeGauge forum.

Lurker

We have a reinspection feature built in for years. We are talking about improvements. Aaron, you are a competitor, you have commented. No one is engaging you. Please go talk to your own users.

I am not an HG user at this time. I don’t use any commercial reporting software, so I have no bias. However, it strikes me as extremely poor form for a vendor to come into another vendor’s dedicated forum to hawk the virtues of their competing products.

Aaron - this is directed at you from a casually interested observer. You should pitch your products and services on your own dedicated forum or on the appropriate public forum. IMO: You are unlikely to win converts by posting here and will more likely generate a negative perception of yourself. If you create interesting dialog there, people will go there and read it.

It is an open forum…
Just sayin’.

It sure is Roy. And etiquette is welcome even in open forums.
