Form one. And if you end up offering more approved education, more marketing programs, more business success tools and more member benefits… for less than $289/year… I’ll join and I’ll recommend that all InterNACHI members join your org.
Its not about me forming one…its about you following one…
Which one should I follow? Is there a bigger, better inspection trade association that I don’t know about? One that offers me more for less? I’ll join right now.
No, Internachi is the best
Have a great night Nick, sleep well and stay safe…

You too, I enjoyed it.
Nick, I see Joe Farsetta always quoting what can and can’t be done. Where he gets his information, is that posted somewhere, where it can be accessed and read? Like association bylaws or something like that. Just wondering and would love to read them sometime to see parameters in which the assocation is ran.
That is on a “Need to Know” basis.![]()
But at least they will have to take a 120 hour course. While three weeks is not nearly enough to become a home inspector, that is no different from what Gold Cosat, and other schools, have been doing now. At least they will go out with a little knowledge. Beats taking a test three times in one day. Nothing beats field work. It would be nice if they would make home inspectors apprentice before they could get their licenses. Hopefully some of those courses will include some field work. Licensing created a mess guys. Regardless of what you think, we brought this on ourselves by not getiing licensed back in the early 2000’s. NACHI was against this because almost none of their inspectors would have qualified. Now you are making every Tom Dick and Harry a home inspector and profiting from it. Thanks to licensing mills, like NACHI, it is going to hurt all of our businessed in the short run. The only one who temorarily benefits from this is NACHI, who will still grow, for the time being, and collect dues. Good luck to us all.
For some reason, “its legal” is the standard answer. There are many things legal that are not smart or immoral. Just because its legal doesn’t make it a right.
Well, first off, we don’t operate a school in Florida to provide the 120 hours. However I do agree, there will be schools popping up on every corner in Florida next year (some schools are already opening now) and many of those newly licensed inspectors will join InterNACHI. I can’t prevent that.
Next time add 3 shots of Jack Daniels. If it keeps going you’ll enjoy it even more and if it ends prematurely you’ll be able to get to sleep quicker.
You know you guys are 100 percent right. The Grandfather clause is a loophole that is going to be exploited, that is for sure. The thought was not for an easy way in and around the “basic requirements”
But It was designed for ME. I am the perfect example of the reason it exists, I was a real estate broker for ARVIDA when I opened my company in 2003 who was flipping homes on the side(among other things), Well 1432 inspections later, I am a friggin awesome inspector! I will put my reports up against anyone in the industry. I DESERVE to be licensed. And should not be penalized due to the licensing law, Inspections are how I make my living!
And I do get upset to think that Joe shmoe can come in out of the blue and be given the same status as what has taken me sooo long and sooo much to accomplish. But the fact is that it is still harder now be a “home inspector” than is was before. You remember when all you had to do was say “I am a home inspector” and poof you were qualified. Doesnt anyone remember that fact, No qualifications, none zero nada butkis. So what if 20 percent of the people that are going to be smart enough to get their license now or through the new mills that pop up get a license. only the quality folks will be successful, It just like the realtors, the push out new licensees daily, and they drop off the map daily, as well. You get your real estate license and it does NOT qualify you to sell real estate. You learn that in the field.
well enough I am off to melbourne.
“You learn that in the field.”
How many are going to learn that in the field and cost a client money because they have no experience. You could have used the 120 inspection rule and 3 years of being in business to get your license.
Russell, I have no idea what you are trying to accomplish by Bit-ch-ing :^oeveryday about what Nick does or not do. You’r continuing slandering about our association is quite ridiculous. If you disagree so much how our association is run or what benefits is lacking off just cancel your membership and move on with your life. I am so tire to see your posting complaining, nagging and nagging. THIS IS NOT YOUR MESSAGE BOARD this is the message board of all InterNACHI HI. Get a life bro. You should meet with Nick and go at it. We do not need to be reading all this bull-*****.=;-X What is done is DONE. Now we need be looking at the future. Present some positives ideas and recommendation and stay focus in the subject matter. Nagging and nagging it sounds like my next door neighbor wife….
