Osama speech was good but he doesn't understand the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution

Always playing the odds Nick, gotta love it.

Since when does a liberal care what the founding fathers thought about anything.:stuck_out_tongue:

How many times does this have to be said.

Correlation is not necessarily **Causation **

I think it is quite understandable for the first African American presidential candidate running a campaign in the style of John and Robert Kennedy to be a bit gun shy, don’t you?

The President takes an oath to uphold the constitution and the right to bear arms he must protect.

Increasing the difficulty of a 14 year old gang member from packing an M-16 is a far cry from collecting guns from law abiding citizens, wouldn’t you agree?

James,

What new law so we need to prevent a 14 year old gangbanger from getting and using such a weapon?

Answer: None

More specifically what does the president of the USA have to do with it?

Answer: Nothing

James, I’m beginning to be concerned about you.

Enforcement of old laws would suffice…and a president can lead by putting particular emphasis on things.

Obama’s speech was excellent. He explained the need for changes in certain policies, explained how he would affect those changes, and brought home the fact (that so many politicians fear to point out) that we have responsibilities as individuals to fulfill as well.

Like it or not, Mike, you have heard the agenda from the next Administration. You can choose to support it, or fight against it for four years, but I strongly believe that it will happen.

McCain and whoever his next “Dick Cheney” is will never have the ability to motivate their base as much as Obama has. It is Obama’s race to lose in the next 60 days.

Hey, I like Dick Cheney. He has class and brains. Whenever I hear him speak I am impressed.

The “base” has to turn out.
The tract record of getting the young to actually show up is dismal.

Obama may well win in November but it will have more to do with the unpopularity of the War in Iraq and the failure of Republicans to run real conservatives.

I think both Nick and JB said everything I was thinking in great terms ,that an open minded individual can understand.

Now thats what I call iintelligent reasoning!

Those of you out there who believe that a president has any control over the 2nd Amendment or Roe Vs Wade is living in a land of fantasy, the president has about as much influence over these issues as does the White House Janitor. Gun control & abortion will not be dictated from inside the oval office, if were that easy then these issues would have been reformed long ago during the Reagan Administration. Obama was just wishful thinkin’ out loud last night in his speech.

Hey Jim… McCain just picked your next Dick Cheney.

I’m predicting it now… McCain wins.

You heard it here first folks.

I think this just shows what an idiot McCain really is. While I don’t like Romney, he would or at least could have helped McCain get elected. Personally I think that seals the deal, Obama is the next president. The Republicans came up with a geezer who is likely to die in office, and a know-nothing housewife to take his place? Well at least that sews up Alaska wonder what his plans are for the other 49 states.

18 months ago Hillary and Rudy looked like they had it all wrapped up, and look what we got. Who would have thunk?

I wrote last night (before McCain announced his VP choice)

And this morning McCain delivered.

Aren’t most of Alaska’s leading politicians on trial for corruption?

Hopefully she’s a little different…

But it doesn’t matter because Obama is taking it…And as far as younger voters, they will surprise you all.
We’re worried about our future.

Since Bush took office:

there were more than 2 million jobs lost
a recession started
the real estate market crashed
the price of gas has risen almost 123%
Inflation is soaring and has driven our dollar down
the cost of college has gone up more than 60%
Umm…WE ARE AT WAR (an illegal war)
health care costs have skyrocketed - in turn more and more Americans without health care
the environment has worsened
New Orleans drowned with no help from the government (one of the most amazing cities in the country in my opinion)

He should have been impeached.

John McCain has nothing new to say. They’re talking about how the Republican Convention won’t try to outdo the DNC - they want it more low key…Because they have absolutely NOTHING to point to in the past 8 years…They have nothing to talk about. They’re thinking of delaying it and not even having Bush speak at it! Probably because they don’t want him to…I wouldn’t either. I can’t believe that people can’t see through what has been going on in this country.

The young people in this country will turn out at the polls.

I’m with Obama all the way…

Way to go, Valerie!!!

When it comes to picking Presidents, Nick, I think you should stop at Mike Rowan…

Right you are, Joe.

There are Republicans who think that an anti-abortion candidate can overturn a Supreme Court protected right of abortion…and there are Democrats who think that a President can overturn a Suypreme Court protected right to bear arms.

Both play up on these points to appease a portion of their audience.

Yeah, I guess you do believe he writes his own speeches.

Looks like the Obumkins are very nervous.

They know they have been beaten(at least for the time being) with this great VP pick.

It’s going to get a lot more fun from here on out.

A strong conservative woman reformer who is out side the beltway political machine.

Brilliant just plain Brilliant!:D:D:D:D

Can’t wait for the debate between Obiden and Palin.

Most people don’t even know the name of the Vice President in office.

Are you referring to a debate between Joe Biden and Dickless Cheney?
